This special issue on Source-Goal (a)symmetries https://benjamins.com/catalog/sl.45.1 confirms a general tendency toward a Goal biased asymmetry across nine typologically and genealogically diverse languages. On the basis of data compiled with the visual stimuli set Trajectoire https://scholarspace.manoa.hawaii.edu/bitstream/10125/24859/LDC-sp16_6_Vuillermet_Kopecka_Trajectoire_Path-of-motion.pdf, the seven papers show that the (a)symmetry at one level of the system can entail or not the (a)symmetry at another level, and that the degree of the Source-Goal (a)symmetry can vry between and within individual languages depending on the domain and/or the event type investigated.
