Dr. Caroline Andrews
Postdoctoral Researcher
Distributional Linguistics Lab
My research focuses on the sentence processing strategies that different languages encourage in speakers, based on the morphological and syntactic forms in the language. My current work is primarily focused on processing of ergativity in Shipibo-Konibo (a Panoan language of the Peruvian Amazon), and through that agentivity, tense/aspect, verb-finality, and case processing more generally. I also work on how memory mechanisms, such as priming, interact with language structures in comprehension and production.
