I am a PhD student at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Study of Language Evolution, University of Zurich. I hold a BA in Linguistics from the University of the Philippines and an MA in Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics from Université Paris Cité.

I am working with John Mansfield on the ERC project “Conceptual Diversity and the Evolution of Abstract Thought (CONCEVO).” We will be investigating how abstract concepts are developed and transmitted across culturally distinct areas of the Pacific, with a focus on Australia and Papua. I am also interested in descriptive and experimental research on Tagalog and Philippine-type languages, as well as Austronesian prehistory and influence across the wider Pacific region.
