Dr. Remo Nitschke

Postdoctoral Researcher

Distributional Linguistics Lab

Email

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Distributional Linguistics Lab. I am also an Internal Collaborator within the NCCR Evolving Language where I collaborate with the WPs Locality and Information Throughput.
My research interests include the intersection of machine learning and linguistic theory, animal communication, and emergent sign languages. I am currently working on a project investigating the kinds of hierarchical patterns we find in animal communication systems.

In the past I have also worked on Natural Language Processing tasks for low resource data and languages, as well as Formal Syntax and Semantics. I still advise Bachelor students on these topics on request.
